Ultimate 5-in-1 Geek Pen
ThinkGeek :: Stuff for Smart Masses

Sometimes a gadget passes our desks that makes even the most cynical simian here giggle with delight. The Ultimate 5-in-1 Geek Pen is such a gadget. Why? Because there is a simple formula that says gadget enjoyment increases in direct proportion with the number of things said gadget has crammed in it. In simple terms: the more it do, the more we like it. And this Geek Pen does it all. This high tech gadget has enough bells and whistles to make most geeks drool. Twist the shaft one way and you get a ballpoint pen, twist it the other way and you get a stylus tip for stylusing stuff. Press the top button to turn on the laser pointer, press the bottom button to cycle through the flashlight and UV light. The flashlight even comes on a flexible shaft for precision aiming. Hee hee. Flexible shaft. Please Note: Your pen will ship with a small separator between two batteries that needs to be removed prior to use.

Japanese Wooden Palmsize Puzzle

Never send a monkey to do a job that requires careful handling. (Write that down, it’s wisdom for life.) You see, the samples for the Japanese Wooden Palmsize Puzzles were in the photogs’ office, and our copywriter monkey, being busy, sent Timmy to retrieve them for her. Unfortunately, Timmy’s monkey paws got all the parts scrambled up and by the time he made it back to her desk, it was just a jumble of wooden bricks and baubles. Which parts go to which puzzle, Timmy? (*shrug*) How many puzzles WERE there, Timmy? (*shrug*) Sigh. After several billable hours, Timmy managed to get all the puzzles back into their original forms. It’s a good thing we pay him in caffeinated bananas. Perhaps you, oh puzzlemaster geeks, will have an easier time, perhaps not. These puzzles are all small enough to fit in the palm of your hand – we’d estimate them to be roughly the size of a classic Rubik’s Cube. The craftsmanship on them is absolutely beautiful – there’s not a rough edge or ugly bit on ‘em. If you love puzzles, and wood, and things Japanese, you’ll want to have these on your desk to fiddle with while you should be doing other things. They’ll fit right in – even if you work in a stuffy suit and tie kind of office.

Scanimation Star Wars Book

We’re one step closer to living in the world of Harry Potter, geek friends. Remember how in Harry’s world all the pictures move? Rufus Butler Seder invented Lifetiles, which are glass-tiled murals that come to life when the viewer walks by. You can see them in the Smithsonian, Sea World, Union Station, and other places around the world. Then he moved on to smaller things – books! Scanimation is the evolution of the Cracker Jack prizes of yore: it uses scrambled artwork overlaid with a striped clear sheet. When you open to the new page, the image moves right before your eyes! (Does it move when you’re not looking? If a banana falls in the forest and a monkey isn’t there to catch it, does it cry?) Star Wars fans young and old will love this book. Watch in amazement as the most memorable scenes from the saga come to life before your eyes. See Obi-Wan battle Darth Maul, the Millennium Falcon zooming away from the exploding Death Star, Luke riding his Tauntaun, Yoda twirling his lightsaber, and more – 12 iconic scenes in all. It’s movie magic without any electricity or wires or even internet. (Gasp!)

Yikerz Magnet Game
ThinkGeek :: Stuff for Smart Masses

Frakking magnets, how do they work? We know, but we’re not telling. Our love of magnets is evidenced in our catalog: there are Buckyball Magnetic Building Spheres, Curiously Strong Magnets, Sushi Magnets, Photoshop Magnets, Periodic Table Magnets, Chinese Magnetic Poetry, and even an Induction Cooktop. So yeah, you could say we’re attracted to magnets (but really, you should come up with more creative puns). Yikerz is a game of magnet mayhem. Set up the board in any configuration you choose, then place your Yikerz pieces down on the board and try to avoid attracting pieces that have already been played. The object of the game is to get rid of all your pieces. If Yikerz snap together, then you have to take those pieces into your stack. Want to make things harder for your opponent? Stand the Yikerz up and align them to create a gauntlet where no magnet can be placed. (Of course, you might be ruining your own move, but that’s part of the fun!) Yikerz can be played solo, one-on-one, or in teams and is a fun activity for people old enough to know not to swallow magnets. The feds say that’s age 14, but if your brother is 30 and still likes to swallow foreign objects, we recommend moving on to a different game. Maybe some Ladies of Star Wars playing cards?
