ThinkGeek :: Stuff for Smart Masses

Instant Switch
Installing a light-switch often requires pulling wires, cutting drywall, tripping breakers, and soothing electrical burns. Finally, it involves overpaying your cousin who is an electrical contractor. Why should it be so hard to turn off a light without having to walk across the room – particularly now that, with your shiny new lightswitch, you now have to walk to the other side of the room to hit the switch. It’s madness! Our solution is quite simple: create a lightswitch with a remote-control and a device that sits between your lamp and your outlet. It’s one of those head-slappingly-simple devices that we love. Kinda like Volkswagens or infinite improbability drives.

Control-a-Cat Remote Control
“Cats are known for many things. The dexterity to always land on their feet and the cleanliness of their fur coats. The ability to knock over a lamp or slam into a screen door and casually continue along as if nothing happened. The nerve to shred your furniture with their claws and somehow look cute doing it. The thoughtfulness of bringing home their latest bird catch and dropping it off at the backdoor as a “”present”" for you. Cats are not known, however, for their ability to learn and obey the commands of their owners. That’s where the Control-a-Cat Remote Control can come in handy. Simply point at your cat, press buttons on the remote and hope for the best. With buttons for “”Stop Scratching”", “”Show Affection”", “”Remain Aloof”" and others, you’ll be in control in no time. It’s finally your turn to make your cat do what you want.”

Pi Symbol Ice Cube Trays
“When hosting the next soirée at your geek bachelor pad you’ll need the proper equipment to ensure success. All three major gaming consoles, a flat screen over 40″” wide, a well trained dungeon master, a complete Star Wars action figure collection, and a fully stocked liquor cabinet are a must. But how about ice? You were planning to use that standard vaguely cubical stuff?… or worse the boring half-moon shape your fridge churns out? Well fear not intrepid nerdy party planner! ThinkGeek is here with the geekiest ice you’ll ever find… Pi ice! Yep these stylish silicone ice trays cast frozen H2O into the symbol for your favorite irrational number. The chicks will swoon when you hand them a drink filled with Pi ice, and Archimedes will give you a big thumbs up for your tasty Pi Jello shots.”

WoodStation Weather Display
What better way to get information about nature’s rhythms (time and weather) than from a piece of wood. This sounds entirely logical to us. The WoodStation is a skillful blend of natural materials and display technology. The body of the WoodStation is made from wood and located inside is a clever LED display that mysteriously projects through the wood. When you get close to the Woodstation, a motion sensor will detect your presence and turn on the display. When turned off, it looks like a modern wooden sculpture. The display will indicate the indoor temperature and humidity, as well as the time and date. WoodStation will also show one of five weather icons (sunny, partly cloudy, cloudy, rainy or stormy). An alarm is also included, with snooze – perfect for those cold and rainy days where getting out of bed just seems like a bad idea.
